Does anyone else who has throat/LPR symptoms from reflux get chapped irritated lips?
I am not a person who licks my lips when talking or anything.. but I notice that when I eat, I tend to move my tongue around my lips, and when I look in the mirror after eating, my lips have become irritated as well as the skin around them (kind of looks like red lipstick smeared beyond the lips).
I'm fairly sure I'm not doing anything with my tongue/lips that I didn't do when I didn't have reflux. Now that I have reflux in the form of sour taste, tight throat, irritated tongue, inflamed vocal chords, my lips seem to be suffering too. My theory is that my saliva mixes with reflux, causes the bitter taste, and then irritates my tongue and whatever else it comes in contact with. I see people licking their lips all the time when they're talking, and their lips aren't cracked or inflamed.
Just curious if others have noticed it too.. particularly if they notice other mouth symptoms such as a bitter acidic taste.
