Productive Cough with LPR?

My main LPR symptom is cough (and pretty bad post nasal drip) but I have heard that the cough is supposed to be a dry cough. I am coughing up some salty clearish stuff and I wonder if anyone knows what that is? Where is it coming from?

Joy, just curious do you ever have days that aren't "mucous filled" for lack of a better word. Today is the second day since this all began where I don't have post nasal drip, and i have that awful vapor burning deep in my throat.

Kind of, I meant i have some days with NO mucous and just that awful vapor and then the next day is all mucous and no vapor! and back and forth. I much prefer the non vapor days!
