TERRIBLE NAUSEA feeling worse than usual

Do you guys experience nausea I have reflux both acid and non acid more non and also have a 4cm hiatus hernia I've suffered with nausea too over the last few days my nausea has been off the scale I'm also experiencing a terrible gnawing feeling too and want to know of this can be due to the reflux and hiatus hernia or something else ?

When this episode of LPR started I had that. First I had terrible gastritis, then that went away. Then I had the gnawing hunger and after I ate the nausea for four days straight. That's how I knew this was the real deal (that and actually feeling food explode up through my LES.)

Regular anti nausea meds didn't help, the best thing was Benadryl for some reason. Anyway, I went through something similar. Sorry I can't be of more help!

What I find really weird is if I have some alcohol say a glass of wine or a smaller glass of rose it actually eases the nausea and I feel less sick which I find weird I know I got ****ed up reflux cox of the ph test I had done hopefully I'll get the op and after the op tue nausea will also get better and my stomach can get back to normal 6 month this has been dragging on

another thing that helped for the nausea was a dramamine but it makes you drowsy. Still if you take it before bed it might give you some relief.

DON'T TALK TO ME about WINE!!! I mention it on every thread. I am not happy.

It can't be good for the reflux, unless it's just not a trigger for you but I doubt it would actually benefit anything. Maybe you just have a nice buzz and that's what feels good!!!! :)

Going to test the wine for symptoms. If there is a God he won't make that my trigger!!

All I know is when I drink alcohol I feel better as long as I don't overdo it and stick to either wine or Ginger wine Ginger is probably the best as it's known to be good for the stomach anyway obviously alcohol in the long run isny good and I don't know what long term damage it could be causing I'm putting the nausea down to the hernia and wonder if it has got bigger recently and that's why I feel worse

Drinking alcohol often aggravates GERD in other people. I think you are wise to see a surgeon but be aware that surgery comes with it's own set off post-op issues.

Just wanted to concur with the moderator's statement regarding post op surgery issues. Although my experience was an emergency, if I had been better informed, I think I would have seriously weighed the pros and cons before committing to it. I could write a book after only 6 weeks of experience smhair

Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself. We only have one body. Treat it well :-)

Ive done a lot of reading on the surgery and about peoples experiences however nothing else has worked for me pills diet nothing surgery is the last option I don't want to have it but I don't want to go on living the way I am I mean from what I've read if a surgeon has done a lot of these ops they will k ow what they're doing and as long as they do all the pre op tests to make sure your suitable it should help in the long run even if it's a horrible recovery I just want my health back I'm literally getting so depressed
