I feel like I have something stuck in my throat

Do you always feel like something is stuck, or is it just after eating or swallowing something like an uncoated tablet?

Have you had any disease that affected your swallowing?

Do you have dry mouth? Do you take any medications that cause dry mouth?

These symptoms are not visible to a doctor, and they often, in my limited experience, don't ask the right questions to come up with a diagnosis.

I had polio as a child and my swallow is weak. That makes it hard for me to swallow anything as large as a regular-size vitamin. I am also post-menopausal and take tramadol, both of which slowed down my saliva production. I get tablets, small and large, stuck in my throat all the time and consequently often have irritation. Meat, especially beef is next to impossible for me to swallow unless I take a drink or eat something soft between every bite.

I took HRT for a couple of years and got breast cancer as a result. Menopausal symptoms generally go away after a while.
