Hi there,
I had a endoscopy last week and the dr found that I had about 100 polyps in my stomach and some of them are oosing blood which could be causing my anemia. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I had polyps in my stomach. They were not oozing though. It comes from being on high doses of PPIs for many years.

I had the Nissen fundoplication not long after they were found.

What is that? And how are you doing? And does that impact your Fibro?

PPIs are medications to lower the acid in my stomach.
I wasn't diagnosed with fibro until this past summer. My gerd affected me for 10 years before I had the Nissen surgery. I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis one year after the surgery, with Lupus 2 years after, and then fibro.
My doctors love me. I give them lot's of money. :)

Harmless polyps were found in my stomach, I had only been on a PPI for a few weeks and was off more than a month before my upper endoscopy.

Hi.

Fundic Gland Polyps are a known occurance when on long term PPI therapy.

They are totally benign growths and go away fairly soon after stopping the PPI.
If you are having a Upper Endoscopy, one or two should be biopsied just to double check.

I know this, because I have a couple and still on Dexilant PPI therapy ;)

One of mine was biopsied. I was assuming there are other causes, not just a PPI. I don't know if it was a fundic gland or if there are other kinds. I'm off PPI'S now so it doesn't matter, but that's one more reason to stay off.
