I feel like crying and just need to talk to someone.
I've been back to my GP. Now have a referral to a GI specialist, but can't see him till 25th Feb.
I was on 40mg losec for chemical gastritis - it certainly healed my throat. Tried to come off - got down to 20mg, rebound for about a week, but then just fine. Unfortunately I got an infection, and had to have antibiotics, so I got a second dose of chemical gastritis (which was my initial reason for starting Losec 6 months ago!).
Back up to 40mg. Healed my burnt throat again, but after a month my stomach was aching again. Figured time to cut down. Went down to 30mg. HORRID rebound for 10 days...nausea and very acidy. Supplemented with gaviscon, but then my throat issues returned. Took 10 days before I had any appetite back again.
Off to GP. He recommended back up to 40mg to try and heal my throat again. Tried it for 5 days...had the worst bloating and stomachaches. Felt much worse than on the 30mg. Throat still irritated. Couldn't sleep. Just awful.
Back to GP two days ago. He has got me back on 30mg, adding in domperidone before my main meal. Supplementing with antacids. Referred me to GI specialist - possibly for another endoscopy, but certainly further testing. It's like 40mg is too much for my stomach, but at 30mg better for the stomachache, but worse for the throat. But now I'm back in rebound land again. Burnt throat. Acidy stomach. Nausea. Can't sleep for more than an hour or so at a time. Don't want to eat...but making myself eat whatever I can. Have lost weight already.
To top it off I'm now hyperventilating - which I have done since a child when I get nauseous and stressed. I managed to get an appt with a breathing physio for tomorrow - she helped me once in the past - so hopefully she can help me get through to my appt with the GI.
I'm just over it. Trying to cope with this, and look after a 2 and 5 year old is just too much to cope with right now.
If anyone has any suggestions to help me get through this - I would really appreciate it!
