Belly is very bloated after NF

My belly is bloated and misshapen after laparoscopic nissen fundoplication. I'm only on day 4 of recovery, but the bloating is both uncomfortable and unsightly. Diet has been mainly grape juice, apple juice and a little bit of yogurt. Anyone have any advice on managing the bloat?

This is very common early in recovery and can last a couple months. Some people use GasX. I have had the left side swell up for a few months before after a redo. That was caused from from the nerves to the muscles being cut and having to wait for them to grow back.

I agree with Bill, the swelling is normal after surgery. If you are feeling that your swelling is abnormal or excessive do contact your Dr.

Thanks Kitt and Bill. I will try GasX for the bloating. Sounds like I'm going to need to have a whole lotta patience to get through recovery. Been feeling the infamous left shoulder pain as well, most unpleasant, but apparently quite normal. C
