Has anyone heard of this new procedure? It is per oral endoscopic myotomy. It is a form of the Heller Myotomy. I am scheduled to undergo this surgery to help correct "jackhammer esophagus" and help relieve chest and abdominal pain after eating. Would love to hear from anyone that has had it or knows about it.

Welcome to Healing Well! While I've never heard of POEM, I did a little looking and found this information online. Thank you for the information. My doctor explained the same way but seeing it in writing is always a plus for me.
