Hi sreynolds,When your surgeon created the wrap, he/she couldn't make it tight enough to allow zero reflux, or your daughter wouldn't be able to eat, as food would not be able to get past that extremely tight wrap. The goal for the surgeon is to get the patient to "normal" levels of reflux...everyone gets reflux from time to time, and it's normal. GERD levels of reflux are not.
Yes, the constipation likely slows down everything, thus leaving food/acid in the stomach longer, which enables the possibility of reflux. That doesn't mean the wrap wasn't needed or that it isn't working.
Have you asked your doctor for remedies that might help your daughter get things moving?
I hope she gets feeling better soon!
Take care,
Denise
