Seems I have had my final meeting with surgeon. Went to go see a Linx surgeon, went for all pre-op testing. Had a meeting today and it wasn't a good one. To make a long story short, my manometry exam resulted in a very weak esophagus. I had 6 ineffective wet swallows out of 10. To be normal you can only have 2 ineffective swallows. He said any operation be it nissen, toupet, Linx would cause me more harm than good. In a nut shell... I will be on PPI's for the remainder of my life. And to top it all off they found another 5mm segment of Barrett's totaling 3 now.
I am so upset. I really thought we would be discussing scheduling for the Linx device instead I got slammed with really bad news.
I get to be miserable for the rest of my life.
