4 days post nissen. Hot flashes??

Hi Folks!

I had my nissen done on 4/30 and have been home for a couple days now. My pain has been minimal but I'm taking the liquid Lortab religiously every 4 hours to be sure I'm not in much pain. One thing that has come up is that I get incredible hot flashes. I live in California and its been fairly warm this week, but I have times where I just break out in a sweat and get very warm. I've taken my temperature and definitely do not have one, so I'm baffled. Have any of my fellow "wrappers" had this post-op?

Hi TonyG,

I get hot flashes, but never in a way that seemed related to my wrap or wrap recovery. Good luck looking for a n answer!

sometimes pain meds can cause the hot flashes.

Hi Tony, I to, had the Nissen on April 30th.

After I was brought to my hospital room, I had a hot flash.

I became very hot, sweaty and uncomfortable. I almost felt like I was going to panic, and was telling my husband to immediately adjust the thermostat in the room.

Since I have been home, I have had this happen a couple more times.

It seems like each time, I was having some pain and/or discomfort in my abdomen.

If it happens again, I will try to see if coincides with taking the pain meds.
