During a routine endoscopy to check other symptoms that may be causing my gall bladder to malfunction I was diagnosed with grade one esophagitis. I didn't have any symtoms then but two weeks later had the most terrible pain at the stomach/esophagus junction. It lasted for four days. It felt like I had a large jagged stone in my stomach. I was desperate! I couldn't get to see my GP so I took slippery elm before every meal and ate plain, soft food. So far so good
