John-- I'm not surprised. Most insurance companies consider the LINX "experimental." It's amazing that the Nissen, (which costs significantly more) is almost always approved. Try appealing the decision. LINX is so new that there's no long-term track record regarding its efficacy- and by long-term, I mean more than a couple of years of data. Because I also have a hiatal hernia, I'm not really considered a candidate for other procedures. I'm having a Nissen wrap on August 28th. Good luck. I hope you find a mininally less invasive surgery the you insurance company will cover.
