I am a 78 year-old woman who has taken Nexium for many years. Recently, after being diagnosed with hypothyroid, I took Synthroid for 2 to 3 weeks. I started having awful side effects such as extreme nausea, excess saliva, and my stomach burned terribly and felt empty all the time.
I have stopped taking the Synthroid, but still have all the side effects. Nexium now doesn’t help at all. It feels like I have too much acid in my stomach, and nothing seems to help. My doctor just wants to switch me to another thyroid medication.
How can I get my stomach back to normal?
Thanks, Nancy
