Hi everyone,
I recently shared my experiences with a chronic (almost 11 months) sore throat here:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=45&p=1&m=2811704#m2811966As I described there, I was initially treated (while being overseas) for LPR. However, here in the US, reflux has been "ruled out" after several tests. The Cleveland Clinic doctors' best guess is that it is a nerves issue. So here's some questions for ya:
1. Is this called laryngeal sensory neuropathy?
2. They put me on neurontin/gabapentin with a low dosage at first and eventually moving to 400 mg a day. (I currently take 200 mg a day.) They also gave me lidocaine "for pain." Has anyone had success with these?
If LPR AND LSN are ruled out, then I really have no idea what I'll do.
Any help would be really, really appreciated.
PS These folks had situations where LPR was misdiagnosed and they were successfully treated for nerves issues.
