Hi Linx folks,

So I've finally got the Bravo/EGD/manometry tests scheduled for early October, so that's one step closer to LINX for me. I was wondering whether anyone could help me on the issue of eating/drinking in public after the procedure? I know that regurgitating liquid and/or food getting stuck happens, and when it does, do you have enough warning to, say, subtly excuse yourself to the ladies room to deal with it? I'm in graduate school and am worried about having "upsets" that could be awkward for those around me if I go out with people...

Thoughts? Anecdotes? Advice?

I had the pH and manometry with the wire recently. It gave me a very sore throat immediately, which clouded my true symptoms and affected my swallowing, but there was no issue of food or drink getting stuck. I was too embarrassed to go out of the house, but I know others who have just gone about their day as normal, including going to work! If you're up for it, you'll probably be fine!

I am assuming you mean after the Linx? If so, yes you will had a "heads up" when things like nausea and if something gets stuck. Keep anti nausea meds on hand just in case you need them. As for things getting stuck, you will know this when it happens and I have always had time to find the bathroom and bring it back up if it won't go through. Kind of like a cat with a hair ball. If you remember to chew things to a liquid and avoid the troublesome foods early during recovery you shouldn't have much of a problem.
