How does a partial wrap work.

I can understand how a Nissen wrap could place pressure on the LES to prevent acid wash form coming up. But how does a partial wrap accomplish this? From the way I understand it the fundus is sewn into the sides of the esophagus. How does this prevent acid from coming up?

Tracks-

It works on the same principles as the regular wrap, but is less prone to dysphasia after surgery. While I personally am not sure it works as well as the 360 degree wrap it does have it;s place for those with esophagus muscle issues.
