I maybe worrying a bit too much. I had my last endoscopy on April 24, 2013. This past week my gerd has been acting up a great deal. My esophagus feels weird especially in the area where the LES is located. It feels slightly tight, not much but enough to notice the difference. This wouldn't be a tumor or cancer could it? They would of caught that in April, right? Could it just be inflammed? Im so paranoid I cant wait to get my surgery next year and end this. Im sick ofthis gerd. I can't sleep now Im sitting here paranoid out of my mind.

I had similiar symptoms only to find out that my hiatal hernia was allowing my stomach to protrude into my esophagus. I had other symptom that worried the heck out of me and they were all related to GERD and my hernia. I had the fundo and HH repair 15 days ago and most of my symptoms have subsided. There are some dietary changes you could make that may relieve the inflammation and discomfort until your operation.

1. Eat 6-8 small meals a day
2. Avoid caffine, nicotine, and alcohol. Also anything carbonated.
3. Avoid spicy food and acidic fruit (i.e. oranges and orange juice).

I have zero medical qualifications but I found these suggestions helpful to me before surgery.

I have a 1cm HH and suffered with gerd for 13 years. I take Nexium 40mg once a day. Just the past week its been bad and today I can literally feel my saliva stopping at the LES. I hope Im not developing a stricture.
