I'm sick of living in pain and don't know how much longer I can deal with this.

It's got to go away soon because I can't handle it anymore. Medicines aren't working. My doctor is trying to help me get a cardiac ct scan.  But problem is that it went to the hospital in the traditional Medicaid file.  So they have to start again in trying to get it approved because mine is State Medicaid and normally will NOT pay for these.  I know he is on my side though. I just don't know what to do.

Sick of pain. Scared of the cardiac ct itself.  Scared of the results of it.  Scared they will show something wrong that needs some much more invasive and complicated treatment.  Scared of PCN not paying and having no idea what to do then.

Any ideas from those without insurrances that pay for this type of stuff? I work only part time because of other health issues.  Medicaid denied me. SSD denied me.  Not ready for a lawyer. 

What to expect next? 

Please, any advice or words of comfort would be great.

Good Evening,

I am sorry to read of your pain and your trouble obtaining approval for tests a Dr. feels you should have.  I am not sure why the Dr. has decided use these scans unless he feels you problem is heart related. 

Here is a link that explains the CT SCAN and basically the SCAN is pretty easy.

Have you ever had a GI physician dx you with GERD or LPR ?

I hope you get the OK for the tests and please let us know how the Scan turns out once you get it done.

I was only told it was heartburn. He never mentioned GERD and I'm not even sure what LPR is. Any specialists would be another hassle to get my insurrance to pay for.

GERD/LPR is rough to live with... I feel your pain. Believe me when I say this, but so many people suffer from this. I know if you asked around you'll find people like yourself in your personal life. They may have advice on who to see or what to try. Also, this website is full of great info... we have people from all of the world getting treated by the best doctors in the world for reflux.

I already do all but one of the suggestions. The only one I can't do is not not eat before bed. How do I do it that? It might sound like a strange question but the only way I have ever been able to fall asleep is full. That has been all my life so is nothing associatied with this.

How do I fall asleep hungry? I eat dinner, but by bedtime, even a few hours later, I am too hungry to sleep.

Hungry but have to take my medicine and then wait. I am actually taking it about 40 minutes early but am too hungry to wait.

I wake up and want a light breakfast (first breakfast) so I can try to exercise. I ended up stopping because of pain.

I hate being hungry when I can't eat.

How is everyone else?
