Anyone Had a Partial 180 degree Fundoplication?

  Hi,im looking for some feedback on a 180 degree fundoplication.Has anyone out there had this done and how successful is it? Also what was the recovery like?

 Im heading for a Nissen redo in October,a 360 wrap taken down and redone  to a 180 wrap because my esophagus is not emptying properly. Im really worried that a 180 wrap will not be sufficient enough with reflux.

Hi Gaviscon99, where are you at now,are you considering more surgery? Surgeon says hes had good results with the 180 wrap,about one in ten would still have reflux. Ive a floppy 360 nissen now and I swear ive reflux,surgeon says its esophageal reflux and non acidic.Hope hes right!

Hi. Im in Manchester uk! Mine was 180 anterior wrap. Result are ment to be ok, 80-85% effective if done as primary wrap c.f 90-95% for 270. As a redo percentages are generally a bit lower.

Getting endoscope and bravo next week! Had ph studies last yr 6 weeks after wards and had demeester score of 43! Thinking I may need more surgery but tricky what type!

No, my motility tests have always been normal (ive had it done 3 times). I had redo as first 270 degree wrap came undone after 1yr. current surgeon says will operate but only if no other choice. currently under a good gastroenterologist who is looking into all my options. Once I have had endoscope/bravo next week i will speak to a few surgeons to see what my options are. 3rd redo, stretta, roux en Y are all options, all with risks and Side effects and potential failures. rock and hard place.

Joy(couchtater) I believe had the 180 wrap and has been doing very well. I think Alcie had the same because of motility issues and is doing well with it also.
