Hi Chilifries,(Yikes! Stay away from those!) I'm no doctor, but I would think that if you're continuing to get strictures on meds, you reflux isn't in control. I'm sure your visit to the GI doc will shed some light on that fact.
You don't actually have to experience huge amounts of reflux to cause problems. Each of us is unique in the way our bodies react to reflux. Whether surgery is an option will depend on the results of fairly extensive testing: 24 hr PH monitor, barium swallow, manometry, and (you've already had more than enough of these) endoscopy.
Good luck with your upcoming appointment! Ask lots of questions. If you don't get satisfactory answers, there's always the possibility of a second opinion.
