in 2011 I tried a Toupet fundoplication with a hernia fix and it was hell for me so in 2012 I had the wrap undone and #2 hernia fixed; I was a lot better but have hernia #3 now with intolerable gagging, worse nausea of my life, a very moving stomach all over the place, irregularities and fecal incontinence sipping Ensure and puddings to keep going and I have no appetite and I do have burning acid and heartburn comes and goes; my undo surgeon said wait til hernia gets large to fix it surgically but another surgeon claims I need a properly placed fundo. with biologic mesh to stop my recurrent hernias with symptoms; what would u do?; i'm close to throwing up daily and struggle to function and forget eating cause I can't.

From the little I know, with your 3rd hernia you are right in looking into more than a few opinions.  I would look for the best surgeon in your area that deals with this type of problem and get all the info and then sit down and make a list of the pros and cons of each Drs. advice; choose the one that makes you feel most comfortable and confident that the procedure will meet your needs.

I am sure you will hear from other members who have been in the exact same position that you are in.
