Don't insist on a procedure just because it sounds good to you! Your surgeon should choose the one that is right for you, based on testing before the surgery and what he sees when he gets in there.
I had a Toupet, based on my weak swallow from polio. The doc doing the testing called my swallow "wimpy." Then when they got inside, my esophagus was a little short, so it had to be let down (cutting some of the attachments in the neck). There are other things they can do if the esophagus is very short.
My results have been about as perfect as possible. I'm 5 years out and have had no reflux, no meds, can burp some. I can't vomit, but no big deal with antinausea meds.
(Not being able to vomit made me appear like a drug seeker and getting no diagnosis when I went to an ER with flu, right after having bladder surgery which was giving me intolerable pain from a catheter.)
