I am a 21 year old male and for the past 18 hours been having feelings of liquid in the back of my throat, nausea ( which has eased a little) and tingling under my chin and on my jaw and much difficulty in swallowing, it takes a lot of effort to swallow but I can just about
manage to.
I have a habit of eating a lot of chocolate ( I am a healthy weight) and drink a soda every 2 days and I know both are bad for GERD.
I have been suffering with GERD for around 7-8 years and a barium meal has confirmed I suffer from 'mild' reflux, although I don't agree that it is mild because at times like right now it is horrible.
If I cut out soda and chocolate entirely out of my diet, how long does it normally take for GERD symptoms to go?
Foods that I eat regularly are oats, wholewheat pasta, brown rice, noodles and fish.
I am sick of tired of feeling like this as every now and then I have episodes like now where I suffer for nearly 2 days or so constantly, I have had inflammation blood tests done regarding the tingling under my chin but that came back normal, I have also had a h.pylori stool test that came back all normal therefor I take it tingling under the chin and jaw is part of GERD?
Finally I have took omeprazole 40mg but that gave me difficulty swallowing which is a side effect of the medication so I have stopped taking that, Apple cider vinegar does not seem to help me either, any advice would be great, thanks!
