How often do you reflux per day?

I'm interested to know just how much people reflux per day? So how often do you reflux, when, and how long does your pain last for?

Hi pink,

Your question is very general so I am going to give you the pat answer; the frequency of stomach acid reflux varies from one person to another. For most people, it happens very rarely. But weekly or daily incidents of heartburn or acid regurgitation may occur.

Okay, I am refluxing after every meal, and in between, does anyone else reflux this much?

I did before my surgery. I refluxed every moment of every day. It never stopped. When I did my 24 hour PH study, I had somewhere in the high 80s of the number of documented instances of acid reflux, predominately in the upright position. I still get reflux, in much much smaller amounts, but I'm still healing from the surgery and it's only been about 8 weeks.

Before surgery my Bravo probe results were around 50 a day and my "average" pH over the 48 hours was extremely acidic.

Prior to a year or two before surgery I didn't even know what acid reflux was - I thought what I experienced every day of my life was normal. I assume I had it as a child and just learned to deal with it until I couldn't anymore and someone gave it a name.

Since surgery I haven't noticed any issues but I am having shoulder pain that I've read could be associated with reflux pain being referred to my shoulder so its possible it still happens a few times a day.
