Bloating (IBS)?

I have another newbie question...

Does gas/bloating cause your abdomen to feel hard? (Unfortunately my stomach is not the ideal six pack....) But yesterday I noticed that it seemed hard! I left the DR office and went to lunch. Later in the day I noticed this. It has been less than 24 hours, but it seems wierd. I would think if it were anything major, the doc would have noticed or said something. Actually, he thought there was improvement in my symptoms!

I have noticed signifigant changes in bowels lately, doc mentioned IBS (ughhh). Just wondered if anyone else had this.

I will be having the scope soon, so hopefully that will shed some light on the situation.

Does gas/bloating cause your abdomen to feel hard? It sure does mine! Hard as a rock. I don't have IBS, but my gastritis can make me feel bloated terribly and often my stomach hurts and is hard.

This doesn't help you much except to know you are not alone. I guess misery loves company! (By the way, don't worry about not having a six pack. Not too many people do!)

I think everyone at some point in their life has had a case of indigestion, heartburn or abdominal bloating. However, when it gets to be something that is interferring in your normal everyday life it really becomes a problem. I know that my constant upset stomachs from the GERD caused some bloating and a hard type feeling with my stomach, too! Though this could be from other things - Here's a link that I thought explained this well!
