Right abdominal pain below rib cage radiating to the back

I have been having right abdominal pain under the rib cage area that radiates to the back since nov of 2013 I do not have a gallbladder had it removed in 2008. I had a ct scan done in dec 2013 it only showed diverticulosis. I had blood work done and liver enzymes and the rest of blood work were normal . A Few days ago I had a colonoscopy it only showed moderate diverticulosis and hemorrhoids no biopsy was taken.i have a follow up with my gi dr and im going to ask him if I can get a egd done next. What else can it be that causing my right abdominal pain? could it be a ulcer, gastritis,or tumor in small intestine? Wouldnt the ct scan showed something abnormal in my small intestine or stomach? Has anyone else expierence the same symptoms im having? Hope I get some replies thank you

It sounds like IBS or functional dyspepsia. I have similar pains. It is a functional disorder. Any changes in bowel movements? I have GERD and what most likely is IBS. I would really look into diet changes and follow up with a GI doctor.

Not necessarily, with IBS things usually come back normal. fruits and veggies are hard for me too. Look into the LOWFODMAP diet. IBS is a functional disorder so there is usually no injury to the digestive system, just a group of symptoms. There are many theories for the root causes of IBS, there is not one answer. You could try eliminating gluten and dairy and see if that helps.

I had this too, it was GERD. The acid was attacking my right lung and I cried it hurt soooo ******* bad. They saw mine in a barium swallow while rolling me on a table. Started me on dexilant and I felt better, well that part of me did. I had the nissen 3 weeks ago, still feeling bad, but getting better. Good luck

So did my husband. They called it a sliding hiatal hernia. His surgeon removed his hernia while doing the nissen. I'm pretty sure they have to remove the hernia if you have one with the fundoplication.
