So surgery didn't work for you? Or is it too soon to tell? I'm having the surgery in about
4-5 weeks. I'm a little nervous that it won't work for me but I've been getting very positive surgery stories, so I'm a little at ease. This is probably the first negative I've seen so far. Could you explain your story? I'm trying to weigh out the good and bad of it all to make sure surgery is right for myself.
I'm sorry that your not feeling well. I hope you get some relief soon!

Hi kokonyc,
Don't worry about
the reflux sensations. Your esophagus is a dumb organ, and it interprets all pain as reflux. You're still healing, and have residual swelling. On top of that, I suspect you may be eating more "normal" foods and challenging your wrap and adjusting esophagus.
Back off the foods a bit, and give your wrap/lower esophagus a little rest. Be sure to sip water or warm tea in between bites, to relax the esophagus and help things get through the wrap and into the stomach. If foods or medication are sitting at the wrap site, waiting to allowed into your stomach, they can be creating irritation that feels exactly like reflux.
It'll get better. Don't worry. Relax, and try to surrender to the recovery. If you can go with the flow and follow your recovery where it takes you, it'll be a lot easier. Don't stress over reflux-like symptoms. They're normal at your stage. You can't rush this healing process. It takes a full 6 months for most of the healing and a year for the rest. You're still in the infancy of your recovery. It'll happen!
Happy healing,
Denise
