I tried to message you privately but cant figure out how to do that.

I am new to this forum as I was just diagnosed last Monday with Barretts.

Yet I have been dealing with Gerd and LPR for about 5 years now.

I have been following your posts and your method of dealing with this seems similar to mine. I just read a post of yours summarizing all of the diet changes, along with aloe and manuka honey. I am curious what brand and strength you bought of Manuka.

I am determined to do all that I can to heal this. I am in my early forties and am a single mom with 4 kids. I need to stay healthy and happy.

Blessings to you for being so committed. I want to do the same.

Welcome to Healingwell! We must be cut from the same cloth, I'm in my early forties, married, gerd/lpr and four kids.....well thats three out of four anyway lol.

Did your doctor say how bad your barretts were? Long or short segments? Any dysplasia?

Thanks for the support, I have to admit some days can be hard to get through as my symptoms are always changing.

The manuka honey I buy is Wedderspoon active 16+. Wedderspoon seems to have the best quality control and put out very high quality honey. I believe they even have some on thier web site that is higher than 16+ but it is VERY expensive. I buy mine at Whole foods for around $30 for 17.5 oz. Manuka and aloe won't cure gerd/lpr but I believe it will help heal some of the damage the reflux causes.

I'm grateful for the blessings in my life and for the strength to continue to fight this illness.

They said no dysplasia and I think it is short segment. I only saw the nurse practitioner at my follow up but I have an appointment with the doctor on the 24th. I will ask.

My symptoms change too. I am on omeprazole 40mg in the morning. That alone doesn't always control my symptoms, which are mainly burning throat and sometimes burning down low..Feels like where esophagus meets my stomach.
There are times when I eat sooooo well and healthy and do all the right things and still get symptoms and then times when I have a cup of coffee and they feel better. I swear part of my reflux is stress related. The calmer I am the better I seem to feel.

Anyway, nice to meet you. I like reading your posts. They are super informative.

IMO, stress can and does play a huge roll in reflux. I do my best to try and let things "roll off of me" and try not to get too worked up over things.

I know how you feel.....I can eat and do everything right, start feeling a little better and out of no-where "bam" I start having problems and I didn't do anything "wrong" to cause it. Of course I can "slip" a little here and there (coffee) and not have issues......makes no sense.....ugh!
