Denise,
It's been about 8.5 months ago. I had a LapNissen done with the DaVinci robot. Five incisions were put across my stomach parallel with my navel. The incisions healed great with no issues. The scars are tough to see.
I sleep on all sides or however I can get comfortable. I almost never, if ever, sleep on my stomach. Apparently you have better dreams that way, but it's not the most healthy way for anyone. :)
I'm glad the dumping passed for you. At any point during that first six to eight months, did you feel totally healed, and then regress? That's what I'm experiencing now. That side pain did go away for a while if memory serves. I feel if I acknowledge feeling better, then I feel worse. It's a strange mental thing.
My surgeon hasn't seen me in a while and it seems like she's sort of dismissed herself from all this. I'm mostly under the care of two GI doctors. I'm starting to wonder a little about them, too. I expected a call about my barium swallow from the one that ordered it Thursday or Friday (had the procedure Wednesday), but didn't get one. I do call them fairly often, a few times a week at my worst, but I'm always nice. I left a voicemail yesterday reporting the side pain, diarrhea (the GI doctor that ordered the swallow wanted to know about that a few months ago if I had any), and possible yellowing of my eyes (could be in my head). I then inquired about an endoscopy.
I've woken up today feeling pretty bad. Oh well. Thanks for replying. <3
