This started in December. One day I had searing pain on my right outside chest, and down my arm. It was constant no re-leaf for 48 hours straight, so uninsured I went to the emergency room and I was diagnosed with GERD after EKG, chest x-rays, blood work, and an echo cardiogram. Since then the pain isn't as intense but it feels as though i'm almost always living with a weight on my chest, and I'm always burping even when i haven't eaten in several hours. I now have insurance, and am for the last month have been regularly seeing a doctor. He prescribed me 50mg of Omeprazole (PPI) which I have taken regularly for the past month to no effect. Every time I eat I get chest discomfort, and constant belching throughout the day. Sleeping has become almost impossible! As soon as a lay down it feels like I'm having heart palpitations and my chest becomes tight. Usually it takes me roughly 4-5 hours just to fall asleep, and that's because at that point i'm so exhausted I just pass out.
I've now been prescribed 25 mg of zoloft to take, with my doctor thinking it might be caused by stress. Which might be the case I was entering my final semester of school including a full time internship when this started.
The discomfort moves around. Sometimes it's on the right side of my chest, others it's on the left. Since this began I've started eating much healthier, as well as exercising 4 times a week 35 minutes on an eliptical machine. My doctor yesterday put my though an ekg, chest x-ray, and more bloodwork after I began getting discomfort in the back of my right jaw. I also had to where a pacer which monitored my heart activity for 24 hours which I got removed today. Then to top it all off I woke up this morning unable to feel or move my left arm. It took around 10-15 seconds for me to regain control and feeling. Hopefully that's just due to me sleeping in a weird position and pinching a nerve.
I'm a 28 year old Male, 6ft tall 232lbs.
I'm just looking for a place to vent and get advice, these last 5-6 months has been hell for me dealing with all this crap.
