I am a 55 year old woman. I've had gerd for as long as I can remember. I also had a hernia near my stomach, in my esophagus. I had a toupee fundoplication done. I had a great surgeon. I quit pain meds on day four. Other than the bloating and a heavy chest the pain was very tolerable. No ant acids since surgery. I am still having problems eating even after I chew, chew, chew. The food hangs up in my throat and feels like it won't go down. If I drink anything it gets real bad. I'm not sorry I had the surgery. I guess I just need to be patient. It's been 15 days. Does anyone know what happens if you drink beer.
