Somehow got rid of dysphagia in only 2 minutes; kinda worried

I've just been for my Manometry and pH impedance study. I'll be waiting a week for the results, but in the meantime I decided to return to my "reflux diet" and take some Gaviscon Advance on my journey home. What worries me is that for the whole time I've been off the G.Advance (and a little time before too), I've had difficulty swallowing, and everything was getting stuck at the top of my throat. Hopefully this was recorded by my Manometry, so I look forward to seeing what the results are.

I took the G.Advance today, then sat down to eat a bit of bread etc, expecting it to get stuck as usual. Nope. Somehow I was able to swallow something that had been getting stuck for weeks on end before, even though my throat was still burning and I was still burping to no end.

What's in Gaviscon Advance that has somehow helped me so much? Can it help inflammation that isn't caused by reflux, like from hayfever or other allergies? This is especially important to me, because until now Gaviscon Advance wasn't much help at all. :O Does the fact it has helped get rid of such a distressing symptom confirm I have reflux, no matter what the test results say?!

Gaviscon advance sieves pepsin, so it be non acidic reflux that is your problem.

Good news that it's got better though!

Sooooo, if the pepsin was causing problems, how come the spit tests weren't picking it up? And how come the alkaline water wasn't stopping it? Kinda confused ^^;

Also, Gaviscon Advance makes a raft over the stomach to prevent reflux and coats the throat from damage right? So if it all it really does is PREVENT further reflux, how did it heal my throat so instantly?

I plan to avoid the Gaviscon again for a short while, to see if the trouble swallowing comes back.
