Hi,
It started about 4 and half months ago. Wake up one morning and throat was burning, it lasted for a little while (a week or 2), and the burning went away. What's left was a discomfort on the right side of my voice box. There is constant mucus clearing. And when I drink, even water (or even just swallowing), I can feel something there, it's not pain. If I drink soda, it gets worst, not the whole throat, just the part to the right of my voice box. I went to 2 ENTs, both looked at my throat using laryngoscopy and both stated there was inflammation and it was caused by acid reflux (that was 2 months ago). I took Dexilant oral for about 2 months and it didnt really help. There are some days were I feel I am totally fine and then the discomfort will come back.
I do have a history of bad acid reflux, but never something like this (throat) and lasted this long. I am thinking of waiting another month or so to see if it goes away, if not, I will go for MRI\CT of the neck.. I am just a little worry. I guess my question is if this is throat damaged by 1 or 2 acid reflux during my sleep, does the healing take this long? I mean what is the normal healing time for throat inflammation caused by acid reflux.
I just got a acid reflux pillow last week and been on it for 2 days. so far I didnt see any improvement.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
