got trouble after fundo i had lpr before need some help as i feel the lpr is back but main problem is i cant burp and i still get the lpr what can i do im in romania people here are nto like in other countries please help me any suggetions i would gladly take .in my last upper gi check up wrap seemed to be ok

i also get lots of saliva and throat mucus an bloating

Hi Alex,

You have GERD/ACID REFLUX, that's why you get a lot of Saliva and mucus.

Can I ask you, have you been drinking fizzy drinks alot even you done your surgery.

Got problems i also got white tongue trushvor cant say what i dont do fizzy drinks i got bloated from food fee times its horroble believe me sorry for mispell

I also got white toungue the trush, I also got excessive saliva of GERD/ACID REFLUX.

What kind food do you eat normally? You need to look after yourself well, if I do Nissen fundo surgery, I will consider to chage my diet, I would never eat any fatty oily foods, fizzy drinks, chilly food. Try eating healthy way, by boiled eggs and chicken boiled or grilled and fish. Look at healthy foods that makes you more healthy for your body.

Best for you to go back to your GP Doctor and tell them about your problem and to recommend again for Nissen Fundo, but before that they need to see your problem by Endoscopy.

i got no trouble from eating cause i dontt do trigger foods just the reflux i feek might be candida i did an endoscopy and i was all ok now cant say what happend .im a fitness trainer so i eat very clean

Welcome to Healing Well.

LPR can be tricky to get a handle on. though at 6 months many people do deal with an issue of food and such sitting at the wrap and basically fermenting. This causes reflux or LPR symptoms. It isn't normally felt as in the earlier part of recovery as food being stuck. It's more of food not completely clearing the wrap.

I've had this before and I made sure to drink a bit extra after I was done eating to hep be sure everything washed through.

This was found on me with a barium swallow, but they had to look at the very closely to see it there.

I do get lor i guess drank some cofee and i got sore throat and some cough and youre right fiid returns from the wrap :( but cant say why i still get it if i tell my surgeon he says its all in my head :( maybe it takes longer time to subside .

Hi Alex,

Sorry you're still struggling. I know six months seems like an eternity during the healing progress, you do not have complete healing yet. Everyone experiences certain universal recovery symptoms, but each person's body is unique, and their healing is unique as well. Some people heal more quickly than others, so try not to compare your progress with others. It can be frustrating. You are you, and your body will heal in its own sweet time.

I agree with Bill's suggestion that your problem is still related to the fact that your wrap is tight, and not letting all the food into the stomach immediately. The fact that you can't burp is evidence that your wrap is quite tight. This will resolve over time as swelling continues to decrease, and the wrap loosens up a bit.

In the meantime, be sure to take small bites, chew, chew, chew, and as Bill suggested, additional sips of liquid after swallowing. This helps the esophagus to push things through more completely.

When food/drink/medication remain at the base of the esophagus, waiting to enter the stomach, it can create irritation, which in turn can cause increased mucous/saliva, as the esophagus produces it to protect itself.

If you've had an endoscopy and your surgeon says that the wrap is intact, it's highly unlikely you're getting reflux from your stomach, but rather are having a reaction to the remnants of food/drink/medication at the wrap site, waiting to enter the stomach.

Hang in there. It takes lots of patience and trust and you work through recovery. People like us with LPR symptoms have sensitive upper GI tracts, and healing takes even longer. It's hard to trust that it will all work out with healing, but do your best. Stay away from foods that are irritating (spicy, acidic, alcohol, etc.), and try crushing your medication and taking it with a soft food, rather than taking tablets that are more difficult to get through the wrap. It WILL get better!

god it scares me sometimes i got coated tongue laringitys ,i rarely feel the food returning from the wrap but sometimes it does even water goes down hard this is a very good community Tx for all the advice and support
Denis tx for advice it is very hard for me whe i haad the frappe in the morning i felt it messing my throat making me cough .i ussualy get saliva after i eat or drink something adn if its triggers i feel it even more thats why i think i reflux .
Also when i lay on my back sometimes i get bad taste in my mouth and feel my voicebox strange cant describe it ,
i do burp but usually not from stomach like from throat i get it :( and i can do it many times but only small ones usually i get them when im eating or drinking while stuff passes down.


So i understand im still healing but i got little scared theres trouble cause i felt like lpr and before i did not feel it so i got ike the darn reflux is back :(.but i will hang in here and check it out

Don't feel bad about getting worried. We've all been there.

This recovery can be a long one and there bumps along the way. Another thing to try when things feel bad in there is to back off your diet a little for a few days. Eat things that are easier to chew to a liquid and such.

Also remember that foods like potatoes and soft bread can hang at the wrap really easily. With what all you have given us it really does sound like your wrap is still a little tight and needs more time to settle in. It's not unusual to have improvements at 1.5 to 2 years.

Yes bill youre right at least i hope i noticed one thing last night if i sit on my belly taste of food comes to my mouth :( or just liquid but i feel something returns :( maybe its too tight or cant say what is but its ugly :) and it scares me cause the liquid tastes like food

News i did some tests fundo is ok both in upper gi and in barrium swallow they did not seem to find any problems but i do seem to experience the lpr caue i get throat pain when swallowing wich is worse immediatly after i eat .also got coated white tongue .

SO basically i got reflux again as barium showed a small reflux but it invades airways still struggle to some trouble as why sometimes even liwuids back up my throat :( is it hanging up at wrap cause they say my wrap is made loose so cant seem to cath up the reason.


i still feel throat discomfort ,taste of food coming later after i eat ,my tongue feels like burning and its like coated with white still lso i get some sore throat
