Hi there,
Nausea has always been one of my main symptoms and the first to appear on off days. Things I have found helpful are not drinking too much, especially in the evenings (nothing after 9 pm in my case); I certainly couldn't drink lots of water like Andy! Also, acupuncture DID help me a lot, so also the herb milk thistle. Another thing that made a BIG difference to morning nausea was taking my anti acid medication at night.
I would also find if something else woke me in the night (e.g kids or needing to spend a penny!) my stomach would decide it was morning and time to start acid production, meaning by the time the alarm went I'd wake feeling very sick indeed.
I also keep chewable DGL by the bed and chew that immediately I wake up if I feel at all queasy.
Main triggers for the nausea seem to be things that trigger the reflux the day before, drinking too much liquid in the evening (leading to reflux I guess), going too long without food and sleep disturbance.
Only thing I can think that would trigger nausea or anxiety like that is perhaps a disturbance of cortisol levels or low blood sugar - just a thought.
Presumably you have the head of the bed raised?
