Hi all,
I came by this forum whilst I was fretting about the latest bout of tingly arms, legs and fingers
Let me tell you about myself, I've just turned 50, male and live in Australia. I've had Vitiligo for about 15 years, 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and this led to the discovery of Vitamin D deficiency (yes, in Western Australia with so much sun!)
Recently (last year) I've been diagnosed with Reflux/GORD starting as a soreness in the throat which was treated with Nexium and later Sandoz/Somac.
My most recent symptoms have been a wandering ache in my chest/arms and intermittent dizziness and tingling..
My Thyroid medication has undergone about 3/4 changes in the last few months (why? I'm not sure) and this has caused a bit of arrhythmia. Now... I panic when I get flutters, tingles and aches at the same time. This was so bad last weekend that I ended up in ED (ER) with severe chest pain, elevated pulse and in a right mess
Doctors examined me and to my amazement showed me that my heart was beating fine even at the highest level of chest pain, they gave me a cocktail of pain killers and peace was restored... They told me that my problem was due to my Reflux
I couldn't believe that Reflux would be capable of causing this so I was astounded when consulting the web to find that my symptoms are not unique! (seems like my doctor may have been right after all!)
I still have a few tests lined up, I need to get my hypothyroidism back under control, reduce my caffeine, cholestrol, red meat etc and have a referral to a cardiologist (will take months to come through) but I'm so much happier knowing that I'm not alone, that others report the same or similar symptoms and that has reduced my anxiety and eased my panicky state
It's not a substitute for visits to doctors etc and I will still follow through my treatment but I thank you for this forum.
Pete
