lifting weights and now i have pain again

I am new to the form and I have had issues now for 3 years on and off.

I first started having pain in my chest after a heavy work out at the gym and from there is was almost a year before I was back to normal. The Dr never did give me a proper diagnosis and I search everywhere on line to find out what I did. I had all kinds of tests and every went to a specialist in Toronto. He said my h pylori levels were higher than normal so he put me on medication. It didn’t really work I just went easy on lifting for the next few months and I slowly got better.

I just started lifting weights at the gym two weeks ago and now again I have the same burning in my chest area (acid reflex?). I had a coffee last Thursday and felt the pain right after that. Coffee seem to really bother me so I stopped drinking it.

I went and seen my Dr again about the same problem and again he put me on Tecta. It is day three of the tecta and I still have a lot of pain and I have been reading a lot about GERDS and seeing that PPI aren't in some cases not helping people with GERD’s because your stomach need more acid to help fight the bacteria (h pylori).

So my question is… has anyone got relief from Tecta or is this sound like a case that I should go back on the H pylori medication.

I just want to feel normal again and be able to lift me kids!! I can't lift anything with out it hurting after I am done. arggg....

You might look up the drug, or the generic name, pantoprazole, to see if you have any of the side effects listed. There are lots of them.

You can look up pantoprazole in the search box at the top of the page too and see what others in the forum have said.
