stomach pain, burning, side pain. help

For the past couple weeks, my gastritis has flare up. I've been on nexium for years and had to switch to OTC because of insurance.

I now have diahreah, stomach burning, Rt side pain, bloating. Have had blood work, ct scan, xray and stool test. Pushing for another endoscopy. I'm at a loss 😢. Feel like crap and don't know what else to try. Have no gallbladder, had appendix out in 2013 and a fundoplication in 2011.

Any suggestions or advice is welcome. Thanks

Hi Nal.

OTC Nexium is only half strength. Could that be the problem? Look through your insurance's formulary. You may find one that is still covered.

I guess the fundo didn't work? I haven't had to take any PPIs since mine.

For the diarrhea: there are some meds that Chron's people take - the cholestyramines - Questran and such. Ask for the granules, not the horse pill. They are prescribed to reduce cholesterol, so make the script say that or it might not be covered. Sprinkle the granules on applesauce or pudding. Don't chew the granules! These meds take out all oils, so don't take them and your oil-soluble vitamins at the same time!!!
