This all started in June.  I was on vacation when I got this horrible heavyness/tightness in my chest.  Well I freaked out.  I have anxeity also, so this heavyness really makes me freak out all the time.  I also get Jaw pain.

On June 14th I went to the ER with this heavyness/tightness and feeling like I could not breath, I was hooked up to a Heart Monitor, had an EKG, Cardiac Blood Work x2, chest x-ray and a Heart Stress Test (running on the treadmill), all came back Negative, my heart is fine.  Blood Pressure is running normal I do have High Blood Pressure but it was under great control.

I have lost about 30lbs in the last year or so and I an continuing to do so.

I have had the Upper GI done.  It showed that I have a Hiatel Hernia and Acid Reflux that goes to my Clavical.

I am on Prilosec 20mg.  My doc is making an appointment for me to see a Gastro, but this could take 4 months to get.

My question is does anyone else get these symptoms?  The chest heavyness/tightness, shortness of breath feeling like you cannot get a breath and jaw pain with there GERD?

There are no other heart test for me to do, they have pretty much been done and all negative.

I hope someone can help ease my mind here.

Yes, I've dealt with it for years. Tightness in chest, shortness in breath. If I lie on my back its hard to get my breath. Not so much jaw pain but if its bad, some. When it hits bad I'm totally weak, which can last for 2 days. Tried many meds. some help and had all the tests. Like you heart is fine. I just found this site and learned more here than w/ Doc's. Past 4 days I've been using yogurt,apples, honey, and vinegar. Yogurt helps the most, then apples, honey seems too. Not as sure about vinegar. Also have really cut the carbs down. Worked very good, until tonight when I tried cheese ravioli. Not a good move came back,but yogurt helped right away. Tomorrow I'm going to watch it close. Look into those food groups and also the low carb deal. Up until tonight, past 3 days is the best I've felt in months. Best wishes

Hi Tammy and Welcome to HealingWell!
It really is a hard call when it comes to these types of symptoms and you've done all the right things as far as having the upper GI done and the (EGD) endoscopy should be the test the GI Dr. will probably order to confirm and tell you more.
I have heart disease as well and have had a heart attack, along with angina. It is very hard to tell the difference - and I've gone to the ER myself with these symptoms, only to learn that it was my GERD causing these things!
Don't ever be afraid to listen to your body! It's always better to be safe than sorry.
