Yes. PPIs can help control the acid that is shooting back up. Avoid peppermint, alcohol, chocolate, caffeine, fatty foods, tomatoes, citrus fruit, and chewing gum. Elevate the head of your bed six inches. Eat small meals. Eat slowly. Don't eat late. Lose weight if overweight.
I had stage 4 esophigitis after my first EGD. It improved when I watched what I ate.
