Hi Trotters,
In my opinion neither surgeons nor specialists pay any attention to peptest although I don't know why - they do however pay a lot of attention to the impedance tests.
My first Ph test was a basic one and showed nothing, 9 months later I had upper dysphagia and an impedance test found 94 reflux events of weak acid and gas with 22% going into my throat, the normal is less than 33 events!
I think it will be a while before the reza band hits the UK which is why I hired an engineer and my own prototype is being made while we post here. I will have it by the end of next week.
I would highly recommend that you get the impedance test done especially if you are burning- it's odious isn't it!
Oddly enough my specialist in Bristol did acknowledge the Peptest as evidence. It's why he gave me the impedance and Restech tests in the first place..! However when it came back clear, he showed me a paper saying how some control subjects get pepsin. If I get a chance I'll dig it out and share the title :)
(Nevertheless I will be going for a retest; being short of breath and having a lump in the throat is no fun :p)
