Can you have silent acid in the throat without feeling the burning? My GI doctor thinks I have this and I'm scheduled for a GED test. I've had a sore throat and coughing every day for 5 months.

Hi marip1
Laryngopharyngeal Reflux as Silent Reflux, yes it is real..
May I ask, do you have h.pylori and have you been tested for it?

marip, it can also be pepsin, which they think is more likely with LPR. That is why you might not feel the burn.

Lump in the throat? Hoarse voice? Hard for people to hear you in a noisy place? Those are symptoms of silent reflux in addition to any physical pain or burning :)

I also have stomach distress (more or less, depending on the moment) in addition to the traditional LPR symptoms. I assume this is still LPR?
