Hi everyone. I am a 41 year old male who is not overweight.
I dont smoke and am in good health. In the beginning of this year I took a round of antibiotics for a tract infection I thought I had.
After that, things went all haywire. My throat felt like it was tightening up, I started getting asthma, I was constantly spitting, i had the notorious lump in throat feeling and at one point, my throat was getting so tight I thought I was dying and went to the ER a few times. They said I was fine.
Ive been going to ENTs and had my throat scoped a few times, the 'back' area looked a bit swollen and I have some cobblestones like bumps. one ENT thought it was allergies but I feel very confident it isnt especially after doing an allergy panel that said I wasnt allergic to much except a type of grass that we dont have much of here in Cali.
Now, about 10 or so months after, I still have constant throat clearing but not nearly as bad, I have a sore throat and palate still. My throat is occasionally tight and it feels off, there is a 'lump' but it feels smaller than before, the asthma has gone away for now.
I even bought the biomed pepsin test but it came back negative which makes me wonder.
ive been on ppis for about a month, some say it could take months to notice a difference.
Do any of you have similar symptoms as me? and do you guys think i have lpr?
I have an appointment to see a GI, maybe she will do a further scope down my esophagus instead of just the throat or a ph test.
