Reactive Gastropathy

I had a recent endoscopy. The antral biopsies showed reactive gastropathy with focal antral intestinal metaplasia.

What I want to know is: can anyone tell me if reactive gastropathy is the same thing as a reactive stomach? I've heard Denise mention this and I wonder if they are one and the same thing. I was reading the possible causes of this and amongst the list of chemical causes is the use of PPIs which is quite worrying. Can this condition go away with time if one is careful of one's diet?

Also has anyone been diagnosed with intestinal metaplasia and if so did it get better with time?

Sorry for the delay in answering, I don't visit the forum as much as I used to.
According to the gastroenterologist, my most recent endoscopy in October (2015) showed no gastritis. The report stated that I had an ulcer, but the gastro said he couldn't see any and that nurses were inclined to 'overcall things'. He said not to worry about the metaplasia, that a vast number of people have it with no problems, it's just one of those things again 'overcalled by nurses'.

I still have silent reflux type symptoms and nausea which comes on overnight. I take H2 blockers from time to time. I try to avoid PPIs as I have osteoporosis (no fractures) and don't want it to worsen.

According to that particular gastroenterologist my stomach is normal. I honestly don't know what to believe at this stage. Two weeks ago I had classic ulcer type pain, which was only relieved by food and by going on to H2 blockers for several days. I would seem to have a very sensitive stomach now, but as to whether it will ever be otherwise, I have no idea.
I was diagnosed as having slightly higher than normal acid reflux, but not enough to warrant surgery (that would be my very last resort anyway!), but there doesn't seem to be any 'mechanical' reason for my silent reflux.

I'm afraid I still have these issues. The worse thing is the nausea which comes on overnight. I wake up feeling queasy and headachey. But feel better once I am up and about and have had some breakfast. If I take an antihistamine this seems to help, but I have no idea why. Maybe it's because it's slightly sedating (cetrizine hydrochloride) and helps me sleep through these symptoms.
I've tried to go back on PPIs for a month or two, but I feel they just make things worse. I just wish I knew what was causing this.

How are you getting on? Has anything helped?

I wish there was a solution for us. I get nausea every night. I'm taking 3 allergyou pills nightly just to sleep
