Just thinking aloud here, but does anyone else think these symptoms are consistent with h pylori (or some other bacterial) infection?
Frequent nausea & stomach pain, made worse when eating simple carbs like sugar, potatoes, rice, I mainly stick to brown rice at the moment which is easiest on my symptoms, I cant tolerate fatty meals because the acidity burns my stomach. In the past I have taken probiotics on and off and think this might actually align with when I felt better/worse (i.e. when I took them I felt better). Bacteria feed on simple sugars right?
I got some L Plantarum today, a probiotic which pretty much kills any baddies in its path. Not exaggerating but I
opened up the capsules (wanted it in my stomach not slow release) and literally 30 seconds after I downed them my stomach pain disappeared.
I have been tested 3 times for h pylori in the past, 2 stool tests and one CLO test by endoscopy, always negative. But I was on PPIs for all 3 as I cannot come off them due to the stomach pain being unbearable (genius GP didn't bother to test for h-pylori before prescribing me PPIs in the first place).
Am I crazy, surely some people get false negatives for h.pylori? I'm popping these probiotics about
20billion a day, 10x the suggested dose but hopefully in a week I'll know whether its done any good or not. Also taking ginger intermittently as its anti-nausea plus anti-bacterial. Will stop my DGL for now because I think it has sugar in it, get a little nauseous after having one which is a bad sign I feel.
