So I did OK for about nine months and then I started having a sharp pain when I swallowed certain foods or drinks, like potato chips or beer.
Had an EGD and for the first time in my life I now have erosions. GI doc says its dyspepsia and to take Miralax, Konsyl, and Iberogast. he mentioned that I have a motility problem.
I just started that regimen, but I'm honestly not expecting much.
I went to my Nissen surgeon and he's convinced that food is getting stuck above the wrap. Oddly, he was combative when I asked how food getting stuck would cause erosions due to reflux. His conclusion is frankly illogical and makes no sense to me, at all.
My GP today replied to my question about stuck food causing reflux erosions and his response, "reflux erosions are caused by reflux. What are you asking me?" Exactly. Thank you.
I have to do another ph manometry test next week. I'm not expecting much because I wasn't feeling anything unless I ate or drank, much unlike before the surgery where I felt it constantly if I didn't have Dexilant.
Also, I now have the burned throat, thick foamy saliva, stopped up nose, bad acid taste, and tender lung feeling.
Erosions, burned upper GI tract, etc. Clearly reflux.
Has anyone had luck with increasing motility using fiber regimen or other motility treatment to regain control of post-Nissen reflux?
