Hi.
I had the Nissen done a week ago to fix my hearthburn and LPR issues, and I have a few quiestions. I'm worried that my wrap might be too loose. I've asked my surgeon but she says it's normal, but reading about the surgery and peoples recovery stories here I'm a bit sceptical.
Firstly I do not seem to have any problems to swallowing what so ever. I know this is supposed to be a good thing, but reading peoples stories here that hardly seem normal. I did however have some swallowing problems the first few days. I'm now eating pretty normal, and even though I've not tried eating meat yet, I believe I would have no trouble at all swallowing it. Does this sound normal to you?
I also have no trouble burping at all. I tried quitting the PPIS cold turkey after the surgery (Was on 80mg daily before). I do not believe I felt any hearthburn, but I belched excessively, like 50+ times daily. My voice also got worse. I would imagine that everytime you belch, acid vapors comes up to the throat right? I'm now back on 40mg PPIS daily, and going to taper them off instead. My belching got much better when starting the ppis again, but I can still do it.
