Dizzy spell and hiatus hernia

I haven't had a dizzy spell for quite a while, but today I woke up with a sore chest and while I was doing some filing at my desk I had a dizzy turn. Think I may have tweaked my vagus nerve, but I does worry me when it happens. Don't know why but I seem to be very sensitive round my hernia area just now - maybe it's something I ate - but I haven't eaten any triggers. Hope the surgery will stop these little dizzy moments!

Prior to my surgery I had an episode that was never explained, but I think was likely vagus-nerve related. I overate in a restaurant, and became very light-headed. My blood pressure lowered and wouldn't increase, so I ended up being transported to the hospital. They hooked me up to an IV, but never figured out what caused it.

The vagus nerve can definitely trigger fainting spells and light-headedness. Here's a link to some information on the topic:

It may explain why sometimes I get very shivery too - made for interesting reading! I'm hoping once this hernia gets put back in my stomach these little episodes will stop happening. I've never passed out with it - but it does make me feel very strange, and I have to sit quiet for a moment. When I get shivery - that's bad too - I can be fully clothed with the heating on full blast and have a duvet over me - only cure for that is to wrap up super warm and go to bed for a couple of hours! I know it's nothing else thankfully - so I don't worry too much!
