Four years ago I had a Nissen Fundoplication to relieve the problems from my hiatal hernia. I had gotten to the point that I could barely talk without coughing. The procedure worked, and following the doctor's advice, I gave up all carbonated beverages and coffee, and caffine. The worst I drink now is decaf tea, Now, four years later, the coughing has returned. I reduced my weight by 30 pounds from about 245 to 215, but the coughing is still there. My GP doctor put me back on prilosec, but that hasn't helped. Anyone else have this problem or suggestions? Talking really is an important part of my job and my life, so I am frustrated.
